Comparison of Prevalence of Influenza and COVID-19: A Report From Hormozgan Province-Iran, 2019-2021

Background: The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and influenza viruses produce a wide range of clinical disease severity, which varies from asymptomatic infection to death. outbreak 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, Hubei, China, followed seasonal pandemic. prevalence has changed since the COVID-19. In this study, we have compared COVID-19 onset Clinical symptoms were also assessed among patients. Materials Methods: present study was conducted single center on 229456 patients with SARS Hormozgan province, Iran, during 2019-2021 before after features including age, sex, fever, cough, shortness breath, nausea, dizziness, headache, body aches, diarrhea analyzed. Results: results indicated that out total samples patients, 71142 (31.00%) 527 (.22%) cases diagnosed positive influenza, respectively. Influenza activity decreased March 2020 remained low until September 2021, but it increased near pre-pandemic levels October 2021. by starting restrictions health protocols. Furthermore, analysis patients’ most prevalent pain, while cough headache. Conclusion: Social adherence protocols could significantly reduce incidence even controlling similar so diagnostic tests are necessary for proper diagnosis management.
